How these projects were developed

Every project in this custom home design portfolio starts with a structured process that examines the opportunities and constraints of the property before design begins.

Early feasibility work helps clarify the questions that matter most: how a new home should sit on the land, how an existing house can be expanded or reorganized, where views and natural light should be captured, and how the floor plan should support the way the homeowner intends to live.

Solar study analysis is part of that early work. Understanding how the sun moves across a site through the seasons informs orientation, window placement, and the design of outdoor spaces.

From there, the design develops into a detailed three-dimensional model. That model allows both the homeowner and the builder to understand the project clearly before construction begins, and it’s where most of the important decisions get resolved.

The images shown are design renderings. The portfolio includes both built projects and design work developed to full detail. The process and the drawings are the same either way.

Design across different regions

This custom home design portfolio spans sites in different parts of the country. Each design responds to its specific climate, terrain, and architectural context.

Mountain and ranch projects respond to topography, exposure, and the scale of open land. Coastal projects manage views and environmental conditions. Suburban and rural projects work within tighter constraints of lot size, setbacks, and neighboring structures.

Renovation and addition projects require a different approach: balancing new design ideas with the existing character and structure of a home that’s already there.

In every case the goal is the same: a home that feels right for its land and works well for the people who live there.
