The Villa del Sol Retreat is a luxury Spanish-inspired custom home that blends timeless Mediterranean character with modern comfort and performance. Designed by Showvaker Residential Design, it was originally developed for a warm, arid climate, but it adapts beautifully to coastal hillsides, southern neighborhoods, and Mediterranean-style communities across Upstate South Carolina, the SC Midlands, Western North Carolina, and beyond.


If you’re drawn to arched openings, stucco walls, clay tile roofing, and warm natural finishes, this design shows how classic architecture can feel refined, livable, and current. A sun-filled central courtyard anchors the home and strengthens the indoor-outdoor connection while supporting natural daylighting and airflow. When site conditions allow, passive solar principles can also be integrated to improve comfort and energy efficiency.


For long-term flexibility, the plan includes a detached guest casita that’s ideal for multigenerational living, extended guests, or a private retreat. A rooftop deck expands outdoor living and captures panoramic views, while a resort-style pool area completes the feel of a private estate.


The Villa del Sol Retreat is an inspiring example of climate-responsive luxury design that honors tradition while supporting the way you live today. Aging-in-place planning can also be integrated subtly for long-term comfort.
